Privacy Policy
HUSH blocks ads and trackers on your iPhone and iPad without collecting your data.
Effective November 1, 2026
Who we are
HUSH ("HUSH", "we", "us") is an iPhone and iPad app from FLY(er), designed and built by Joseph Rochlin. Questions about this policy: support@getflyer.app.
How HUSH protects you
HUSH works inside Safari, entirely on your device. It gives Safari its block lists through Safari's own content blockers (HUSH Ads & Trackers, HUSH Privacy, HUSH Privacy+ and HUSH Security), and Safari checks the pages you visit against them on your device. HUSH does not use a VPN, does not route or inspect your internet traffic, and we don't operate any servers that see your browsing.
Information we collect
None. HUSH does not collect your name, email, contacts, location, browsing history, device identifiers, or usage analytics. HUSH contains no advertising or third-party tracking code.
Information kept on your devices
- Your settings: sites you allow, elements you hide in Safari, your YouTube, HUSH Player and Calm choices, your location setting, your search engine and your app icon.
- Your library: videos you save, Continue Watching and your favorites.
- Insights: the counts of what HUSH has stopped, used for Insights, widgets and your weekly Quiet Report.
- The block lists: built into the app and checked by Safari on your device.
- Video positions: where you left off in a video, so the HUSH Player can pick up from there.
None of this is ever sent to us. It is removed when you delete HUSH from all your devices and its data from your iCloud.
iCloud sync
If you're signed in to iCloud, HUSH keeps your settings, library and favorites in sync between your iPhone and iPad through your own private iCloud account. That data is stored by Apple in your iCloud, not by us, and we can't see or read it. You can turn off iCloud for HUSH in your iCloud settings at any time. Apple's handling of iCloud data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
The HUSH browser
HUSH includes a browser for watching video. Like any browser, it loads websites directly from those websites, and sites you sign in to can keep you signed in with cookies stored on your device. You can clear the browser's data at any time in HUSH's settings. Searches you type go straight to the search engine you choose (DuckDuckGo by default), and that search engine's own privacy policy applies. HUSH does not see, record or send anywhere what you browse, watch or search.
The Safari extension
When you turn on HUSH in Safari, it runs on the pages you visit so it can remove ads and leftover ad boxes, hide cookie pop-ups, answer anti-adblock walls, remove sponsored posts from social sites, apply Calm modes, block YouTube ads and run the HUSH Player, give websites your general area instead of your exact location, apply the elements you've chosen to hide, show you what HUSH blocks when you use Preview, and allow a site when you ask. It reads page content only on your device, only for those features, and never collects or transmits it.
Skip sponsor segments (optional)
This setting is off by default. If you turn it on, the HUSH Player asks the free community SponsorBlock service which parts of a video are sponsor segments. To do this it sends only a short anonymous code made from the video's ID, which matches many videos at once, never the video itself and never anything about you. As with any website, SponsorBlock's servers can see the internet address (IP address) the request comes from. SponsorBlock's handling is described in SponsorBlock's own policies.
The share-sheet action
"Allow on HUSH" adds the website you shared to your allowed sites, on your device. Nothing is sent to us.
Purchases
Subscriptions, lifetime purchases and gift codes are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. Apple provides HUSH with a record of your purchase so the app can confirm your access on your device. Apple's handling of purchase data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
This website
This website has no analytics, no ads, no cookies and no third-party scripts or fonts.
Children
HUSH is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Your choices
You can turn HUSH and its blockers off at any time in Settings › Apps › Safari › Extensions, switch any feature off in HUSH's settings, and delete all HUSH data by deleting the app and its iCloud data.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
